Gresini MotoGP rookie Fermin Aldeguer has revealed that he received valuable advice from Marc Marquez during the Buriram test as he continues his transition to premier-class racing.
Aldeguer, who will make his full-time MotoGP debut in 2025, is one of three rookies stepping up to the top category. He takes over Marquez’s seat at Gresini, following the eight-time world champion’s highly anticipated move to the factory Ducati team.
Despite being rivals on track, Aldeguer has spent time training with both Marc and Alex Marquez during the off-season at various track sessions in Spain. However, the Buriram test offered him the opportunity to have a more focused conversation with Marc about the challenges of adapting to MotoGP machinery.
“We talked about riding style, the tyres, and the overall feeling of the bike,” Aldeguer said. “But at the end of the day, we can talk as much as we want, but I have to prove it on track. It’s about feeling things for myself and making the necessary adjustments.”
Acknowledging that Marquez is now focused on his own new chapter with Ducati, Aldeguer remains committed to his own learning curve at Gresini.
“He has another challenge now, and I have mine,” he added. “I need to focus on improving step by step, and eventually, we can look at lap times and positions to see how I’m progressing.”
With high expectations surrounding Aldeguer’s debut season, the young Spaniard is eager to use every opportunity to develop his skills and establish himself in the highly competitive MotoGP grid.
