Marc Marquez has dismissed speculation that he and Francesco Bagnaia will have issues as teammates in the factory Ducati Team next season.
With Ducati assembling a so-called ‘Dream Team’ featuring two multi-time world champions, many expect tension between Marquez and Bagnaia as they both chase the 2025 MotoGP title.
However, Marquez believes their maturity and mutual respect will prevent any major conflicts. Speaking on El Hormiguero, he praised Bagnaia’s character:
“If you put two roosters in the same pen at 22 or 25 years old, it’s bad. It’s a bomb. But I think he’s 27 and I’m 32. Apart from that, Pecco is a gentleman, he’s calm. We’ve worked together during pre-season, and we’ve shared many conversations to get the best possible bike.”
Marquez acknowledged that once racing begins, both will fight for their own interests but stressed that their rivalry will remain professional.
“Pecco is a gentleman, he never raises his voice. But on the track, he is the biggest warrior. If he has to put his bike on you, he will. But that’s racing.”
With both riders focused on the title, their dynamic will be one to watch in 2025.
