Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi hailed his team’s 2-0 victory over Lazio in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals but emphasized the need to manage fatigue ahead of a packed schedule.
A stunning volley from Marko Arnautovic and a penalty by Hakan Çalhanoğlu secured Inter’s spot in the semi-finals against AC Milan in April.
“We played an excellent match against a strong team. Lazio gave us problems, especially in the first half, but we managed well after the first goal. Now, we must recover our energy because we need everyone,” Inzaghi said.
Inter, the only Italian club still competing in Serie A, Coppa Italia, and the Champions League, have already faced Milan three times this season, suffering two losses and a draw.
“It will be an intense two-legged tie. Our goal is to reach the final in Rome, but for now, we focus on the upcoming matches.”
Meanwhile, Lazio boss Marco Baroni was left frustrated, as his team had more shots on target but failed to convert.
“We’re disappointed. The only thing missing was the goal. We must stay calm and keep pushing with more conviction.”
Lazio remain fifth in Serie A, just two points behind Juventus, and will face Viktoria Plzeň in the Europa League Round of 16.
