Gresini Calls Marquez Brothers’ Thai MotoGP 1-2 Finish a “Masterpiece”

Marc and Alex Marquez delivered a stunning 1-2 finish at the Thai MotoGP, a result that Gresini Racing has hailed as a “masterpiece.” The victory marked the first time the brothers finished first and second in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix, showcasing their dominance.

While Alex Marquez led most of the race, Marc later revealed that he had to hold back due to concerns over front tyre pressure regulations. Gresini Racing team manager Michele Masini explained that Ducati’s data-sharing system allowed them to anticipate the strategy, making Marc’s late-race attack predictable.

“We knew from the data that Marc had a couple of tenths more,” Masini told GPOne. “We knew he needed to stay behind. I knew he’d attack at the end. The important thing was for Alex to avoid mistakes and keep Pecco [Bagnaia] behind. It was a masterpiece.”

Masini, who managed Marc Marquez at Gresini in 2024, expressed his joy in witnessing the brothers’ success, recalling their shared podium moment at Sachsenring last season.

“It’s a great joy. Marc is very happy for us and his brother. A really strong relationship has formed between our two families.”

With this dominant display, the Marquez brothers have sent a strong message for the season ahead, proving they remain a formidable force on the MotoGP grid.
