Eriksen Set to Leave Manchester United at Season’s End

Christian Eriksen has revealed that he is likely to leave Manchester United at the end of the season, as his contract expires in June and no discussions about an extension have taken place.

The Danish midfielder, who has struggled for regular game time since Ruben Amorim took charge last year, said he is open to a new challenge. “I’m ready to look for something new. That suits me very well,” Eriksen told reporters ahead of Denmark’s Nations League quarter-final against Portugal. “That’s why I assume the collaboration is over. That’s how I interpret it.”

Eriksen, 33, emphasized that he will take his time to evaluate future offers but is prepared to move on if the right opportunity arises. He also hinted that his next destination is unlikely to be in England. “My intention is not to stay in England,” he added.

The former Inter Milan and Tottenham playmaker joined Manchester United in 2022 after a short stint at Brentford. He was forced to leave Inter due to Italian health regulations after being fitted with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator following his cardiac arrest during Denmark’s Euro 2020 match against Finland.

Despite limited appearances this season, Eriksen recently started United’s last two Premier League matches—his first league starts since December. He has made 99 appearances across all competitions for the club, scoring seven goals.
