Chelsea have reached an agreement with Sporting Lisbon to sign young talents Geovany Quenda and Dario Essugo in a combined deal worth up to €74.4 million ($81.15 million), Sporting confirmed on Wednesday.
The Premier League club will pay up to €52 million, including add-ons, for 17-year-old Quenda. The Guinea-Bissau winger, who turns 18 in April, had also drawn interest from Manchester United and will officially join Chelsea in 2026.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old Essugo, currently on loan at LaLiga club Las Palmas, will move to Chelsea this summer for a fixed fee of €22.2 million. Essugo made history in 2021 as Sporting’s youngest-ever player, debuting at the age of 16.
