Franco Morbidelli Leads Ducati Sweep in Qatar MotoGP Practice

Franco Morbidelli topped the time sheets in Practice for the 2025 Qatar MotoGP, continuing VR46 Ducati’s strong form this season. Morbidelli posted a 1:50.830 late in the session, narrowly edging out factory Ducati’s Pecco Bagnaia, who clocked a 1:50.975. Marc Marquez followed closely in third, just 0.022s behind Bagnaia.

The Ducati dominance continued with Fabio Di Giannantonio placing fourth and Alex Marquez fifth, completing an all-Ducati top five. Both factory Ducati riders, Bagnaia and Marc, did not go for a final time attack, opting to finish the session on used medium tyres.

Fabio Quartararo led the non-Ducati riders in sixth, securing a direct Q2 spot for Yamaha. Rookie Pedro Acosta was seventh for KTM, followed by Maverick Vinales, Fermin Aldeguer, and Johann Zarco.

Zarco’s late lap pushed Alex Rins down to 11th, meaning he will join the likes of Brad Binder, Joan Mir, and Luca Marini in Q1. Binder crashed at Turn 1 in the final minutes, while Jack Miller also had his second fall of the day and ended 17th. Somkiat Chantra crashed early and finished last.

Reigning world champion Jorge Martin, still recovering from injury, struggled in 20th place during his first official session with Aprilia.
