The New York Knicks pulled off another stunning comeback against the Boston Celtics in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, overturning a 20-point deficit for the second straight game to win 91-90 and take a commanding 2-0 series lead.
The Celtics, dominant for three quarters, collapsed in the fourth as the Knicks launched a 21-4 run. Boston went ice-cold, missing 12 straight shots over an eight-minute stretch. Jayson Tatum’s late dunk briefly gave the Celtics hope, but Jalen Brunson’s clutch free throws and Mikal Bridges’ game-saving block at the buzzer sealed the win.
Bridges scored all 14 of his points in the final quarter, Josh Hart led with 23, and Karl-Anthony Towns posted a huge 21-point, 17-rebound double-double. The Knicks made history as the first NBA playoff team to come back from 20 points down in consecutive games.
The Celtics, who shot just 25% from beyond the arc, now face immense pressure heading into Game 3 at Madison Square Garden on Saturday. New York is just two wins away from reaching the Eastern Conference finals for the first time in 25 years.
