2025 Czech MotoGP: Marc Marquez dominates for fifth win in a row

Marc Marquez extended his reign over the 2025 MotoGP season by claiming his fifth consecutive grand prix victory at Brno, further solidifying his grip on the championship lead.

After overcoming a tyre pressure issue to win Saturday’s Sprint—his 11th from 12 attempts—Marquez lined up second on the grid for Sunday’s 21-lap main race. Despite slipping back briefly at the start, he regained control by lap eight, overtaking Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi and then pulling away comfortably.

Crossing the finish line 1.753 seconds ahead, Marquez became the first Ducati rider to win five grands prix in a row and earned a fifth consecutive 37-point weekend. With Alex Marquez crashing out early, Marc now heads into the summer break with a commanding 120-point lead.

Pole-sitter Pecco Bagnaia took the early holeshot, ahead of Marc Marquez and Fabio Quartararo. A wide moment at Turn 13 on lap one opened the door for Bezzecchi to hit the front, while Marquez moved into second the following lap.

Bezzecchi held off the Ducati rider until lap eight, when Marquez made a decisive move at Turn 3 and began to build a gap. Though Bezzecchi tried to respond, the pace proved too strong as Marquez opened a two-second margin by lap 16.

Pedro Acosta clinched his first MotoGP podium for KTM in third after withstanding late pressure from Bagnaia, who faded following his early battle for the lead. Bagnaia’s mistake on the final lap ensured Acosta’s spot on the rostrum.

Bagnaia now trails the championship leader by 168 points.

Raul Fernandez matched his best-ever MotoGP finish in fifth for Trackhouse Aprilia, ahead of Fabio Quartararo and Jorge Martin—who made an impressive return to full-race distance by climbing from 12th to seventh in his first GP since April.

Fermin Aldeguer came home eighth for Gresini Ducati, just ahead of KTM’s Brad Binder. Pol Espargaro, standing in for Maverick Viñales at Tech3, completed the top ten.

Jack Miller finished 11th, followed by Luca Marini, Johann Zarco (the only rider on a soft rear), Ai Ogura, and Alex Rins. Enea Bastianini crashed out on lap seven, while Alex Marquez and Joan Mir collided on lap two, with the incident under review by race stewards.
