Barcelona Cruise Past Como as Ter Stegen Reconciles with Club

Barcelona wrapped up their pre-season with a commanding 5-0 win over Italian side Como in the Joan Gamper Trophy, marking a positive turn in relations with goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

The reigning La Liga champions, playing at the Johan Cruyff Stadium due to ongoing Camp Nou renovations, were in fine form. Fermín Lopez and Lamine Yamal both scored twice, while Raphinha added another in the first half. New loan signing Marcus Rashford made a substitute appearance two weeks after joining from Manchester United.

Before kickoff, Ter Stegen delivered the traditional captain’s speech, just days after resolving a public dispute with the club regarding the handling of his back injury. With the captaincy restored, the 33-year-old said it was “important to resolve the issue” and focus on the season ahead.

Hansi Flick’s side begin their La Liga title defence away to Mallorca on Saturday.
