Bezzecchi Ends Sprint Drought with Misano Victory

Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi secured his first Sprint win since Assen 2023, staying clear of Alex Marquez’s Gresini machine at Misano. Fabio di Giannantonio completed the podium after holding off his VR46 team-mate.

Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo, who started from the front row, was among the high-profile crash victims, while Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia could only finish 13th.

Yamaha’s new V4 prototype made its race weekend debut, with test rider Augusto Fernandez bringing it home in 18th. Quartararo, Alex Rins, and Jack Miller, who recently tested the bike in Barcelona, will continue development in next week’s official Misano test.

Joan Mir, still recovering from neck pain after Friday’s crash, missed qualifying and the Sprint. The HRC rider is scheduled to start 12th in Sunday’s race if declared fit.

Marc Marquez, whose 15-race unbeaten streak ended in Barcelona, cannot mathematically secure the 2025 world championship at Misano, but remains on course for title glory later in the season.
