Fresh off clinching his seventh MotoGP crown at Motegi, Marc Marquez is eyeing another milestone as he heads into this weekend’s Indonesian Grand Prix at Mandalika.
The Ducati rider secured the 2025 championship last Sunday, marking his first title in six years and equalling Valentino Rossi with seven premier-class and nine overall world titles. Despite already wrapping up the championship with five races to go, Marquez insists he is far from easing off.
“The last 72 hours have been simply incredible. Sunday was a day I will always remember. There were very touching moments, of joy and peace. I arrive in Mandalika with all these emotions, which will give me an extra boost to stay focused and keep giving everything for the team,” Marquez said.
Victory in Indonesia remains elusive for the 32-year-old, who has endured a tough history at Mandalika. He missed the 2022 race due to a heavy crash, retired in 2023, and suffered an engine failure in 2024 after finishing third in the sprint.
This weekend offers Marquez a chance to claim his first Indonesian GP win, match his 2019 tally of 12 victories in a single season, and move within one of his personal record of 13 set in 2014. With Ducati also closing in on the teams’ championship, Marquez is determined to push for the triple crown.
