The Italian will now be absent from the touchline for Chelsea’s upcoming Premier League clash away to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
In addition to the suspension, Maresca was fined £8,000 after admitting to the misconduct charge, the Football Association confirmed.
He received his first yellow card for protesting a penalty decision before being shown a second in the sixth minute of stoppage time, when he ran down the touchline to celebrate Estevao Willian’s late winner.
The victory came as a much-needed boost for Chelsea, who had lost their previous two league matches, lifting them to sixth place at the time and easing pressure on Maresca.
Speaking to Italian media after the match, Maresca said his celebration was “an instinctive reaction” and insisted it was worth it — even if it resulted in his dismissal.
