Raul Fernandez ended the Valencia MotoGP test as the fastest rider despite having no new components to evaluate, unlike the factory Aprilia riders who trialled an updated aerodynamic package.
Coming off a strong end to the 2025 season, including four podiums and a win in Australia, Fernandez continued his momentum by focusing solely on maximising his existing bike setup. He confirmed that he used the same bike from the Valencia Grand Prix while Aprilia waited for feedback from Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin on the new aero parts.
Fernandez also revealed he completed the test without painkillers, which led to discomfort in the later stages due to the shoulder injury he sustained in Portugal. He emphasised the need for proper rest and recovery before the 2026 season.
He confirmed he will not undergo surgery to avoid missing the crucial Sepang test, instead following a physiotherapy plan to regain full strength.
