Luca Marini believes Honda made a major step forward in MotoGP during the 2025 season, particularly in how the team analyses data before and after each race weekend. According to the Italian rider, this improved working method has played a key role in Honda’s resurgence.
Honda ended a long podium drought in 2025, highlighted by Johann Zarco’s wet-weather victory at the French Grand Prix and three additional podium finishes in dry conditions. These results helped Honda climb out of rank D in the concessions system, underlining clear progress with the RC213V.
Marini explained that the growth is not only about bike performance, but also about having more engineers and a stronger, more structured approach to data analysis. He believes this higher level of understanding allows the team to identify weaknesses more clearly and make better improvements.
Satisfied with his time at Honda so far, Marini said the challenge was difficult at the start, but the team has moved closer to the front in just a year and a half. While wins are still missing, he is confident Honda can take another step forward and fight regularly near the top in the coming season.
