Jack Miller held Ducati talks over possible World Superbike move for 2026

Jack Miller has revealed that he held discussions with Ducati about a potential move to the World Superbike Championship in 2026, before eventually renewing his MotoGP future with Pramac Yamaha.

The four-time grand prix winner found himself facing an uncertain future midway through 2024, when it appeared his MotoGP career could be coming to an end. That situation changed when Pramac offered him a one-year deal as the team prepared for its switch from Ducati to Yamaha machinery.

With Yamaha set to introduce a V4 engine in 2026, Miller’s experience with that configuration played a key role in his selection to continue with Pramac, alongside Toprak Razgatlioglu. However, during the summer break, his position with the team was not yet secure, leading to conversations with Ducati about an alternative path in World Superbikes.

Miller acknowledged that racing in World Superbikes is something he would seriously consider if MotoGP opportunities were no longer available. He emphasized his passion for racing and suggested that he could see himself competing well into his later years. He also pointed out the demanding nature of the MotoGP calendar, which includes 22 rounds and a high number of races across a season.

Despite that, Miller stressed that his motivation for MotoGP remains strong and that retirement is not something he is considering in the near future. He once again enters the season on an expiring contract but hopes to secure a deal that would allow him to continue beyond 2026 and into the new technical era beginning in 2027.

Miller described the upcoming season as crucial, acknowledging the unforgiving nature of the paddock, while expressing hope that strong results will help bring clarity to his future earlier than last year. He remains determined to prove he still has unfinished business in MotoGP and wants to be part of the championship’s next phase.

While he remains focused on his current goals, Miller also admitted that the World Superbike calendar is appealing, keeping that option in mind for the future.
