MotoGP confirms weekend race format for new Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup

MotoGP has unveiled the provisional weekend format for the new Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup, which will make its debut as a support category at selected grand prix rounds in 2026.

The new series was announced at the end of the 2024 season following a partnership agreement between Dorna Sports and Harley-Davidson. The collaboration is aimed at helping MotoGP grow its presence in the United States, while also expanding Harley-Davidson’s visibility in Europe.

The Bagger World Cup will feature on the support programme at six MotoGP rounds during the 2026 season. MotoGP has now outlined how race weekends for the category are expected to run.

At most events, riders will take part in two 20-minute practice sessions on Friday. A 20-minute qualifying session will follow on Saturday, ahead of the first race of the weekend. Race distance will depend on circuit length, with races scheduled over either seven or nine laps.

The second race will take place on Sunday and will also run over seven or nine laps, depending on the venue.

A slightly different format will be used at the Italian Grand Prix. There, both practice sessions and qualifying will be held on Friday, while the two races will take place on Saturday.

The inaugural season is set to visit the Americas Grand Prix, Italian Grand Prix, Dutch Grand Prix, British Grand Prix, Aragon Grand Prix and Austrian Grand Prix.

MotoGP has also confirmed that Indonesian outfit Niti Racing has joined the list of provisional entries. The current provisional teams include Niti Racing, Saddlemen Race Development, Cecchini Racing Garage and Joe Rascal Racing. Joe Rascal Racing has also been granted approval to expand to a three-rider line-up for the 2026 season.
