Nicolo Bulega Eyes MotoGP Move for 2027 Amid Talks and Team Shuffle

WorldSBK title leader Nicolo Bulega has confirmed he is in discussions with multiple teams as he pursues his MotoGP “dream” for 2027. The Italian rider, however, stressed that no decisions are expected until the sport’s “big names” are confirmed in their seats.

After finishing runner-up to Toprak Razgatlioglu last season, Bulega beat Razgatlioglu to a MotoGP debut by substituting for Ducati’s injured champion Marc Marquez in the final two rounds. He scored points on both occasions and strengthened his chances of a full-time 2027 ride by taking on a Ducati MotoGP test role alongside his WorldSBK campaign.

Rumors suggest that most Desmosedici seats for next year are already filling up, which could limit opportunities for the 26-year-old. A potential opening may have emerged at Trackhouse Aprilia, following Ai Ogura’s reported switch to Yamaha.

“Honestly, at the moment I can’t tell you anything more because we are just waiting to see what happens with the big names in MotoGP,” Bulega told the official WorldSBK website ahead of this weekend’s Assen round.
