After a turbulent debut season with Aprilia and limited winter testing, Jorge Martin has become one of 2026’s standout performers. The former world champion has reached the podium in each of the last four races, including his first Aprilia victory in the COTA Sprint, and sits second in the championship behind teammate Marco Bezzecchi.
Martin attributes his surge to improved aerodynamics and a change in braking technique on the RS-GP.
“I think the latest aerodynamics was key for me,” Martin said in the USA. “I felt good straight away. Also, I changed the style… I adjusted how I brake, and that’s why I feel much better on the Aprilia.”
While he didn’t reveal specifics, Martin noted that the braking approach, already used by Bezzecchi, is “very different” from what Ducati demanded.
