George Russell has expressed interest in tackling the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife in the future, as his rivalry with four-time F1 champion Max Verstappen continues to draw attention on and off the track.
The Mercedes driver’s ongoing competitive tension with Verstappen has been one of Formula 1’s most talked-about storylines in recent seasons, with disputes escalating at several grands prix. At the 2024 Qatar Grand Prix, Verstappen criticised Russell over their clash involving a deleted pole position lap, while Russell accused the Dutchman of aggressive conduct.
Their rivalry intensified again at the 2025 Spanish Grand Prix, where Verstappen received a penalty after an on-track collision with Russell, further fueling debate between the two camps.
Despite the history between them, Russell has now shifted focus toward endurance-style challenges, naming the Nürburgring Nordschleife as a circuit he would like to race at one day.
