Ginting Returns to Malaysia Masters Main Draw Amid Seed Withdrawals

Anthony Sinisuka Ginting has been promoted from the qualifying rounds to the main draw of the PERODUA Malaysia Masters 2026 following the withdrawals of top seeds Shi Yu Qi and Anders Antonsen. This marks the Indonesian’s first appearance at the tournament since his 2023 Round of 16 defeat to Weng Hong Yang. Ginting, a former world No.2 currently on the comeback trail from injury, made his debut in 2015 and achieved his best result as a semifinalist in 2017.

Ginting will open his campaign on Wednesday against local hope Justin Hoh. Compatriot Jonatan Christie now moves into Shi’s Position 1 in the draw due to the Seed Withdrawal Movement.

In women’s doubles, Malaysian top seeds Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan have also withdrawn, shaking up the field for home fans.
