Alex Rins frustrated as Yamaha struggles continue despite top-10 finish

Alex Rins admitted it remains “frustrating to race like this” as Yamaha’s performance issues persisted, even after a tyre pressure penalty promoted him to ninth place.

The Spaniard said he briefly felt encouraged during the opening laps after managing to stay within sight of the front runners.

“It was really tough,” Rins said. “At the beginning, I could see—I don’t know if it was Marc or Pecco—but when they were entering the final chicane, I was just arriving from Turn 15, so I was quite happy.

“Then, of course, they were probably just managing the pace because I kept my rhythm and they disappeared.”

Despite securing a top-10 finish, Rins admitted Yamaha continues to face the same performance limitations that have plagued the team throughout recent races.

“More or less, we had the same problems as the past races. That’s all. I just try to give my maximum and stay with the group.”

With Yamaha still searching for solutions, Rins is hoping future upgrades can finally close the gap to the front and allow the team to fight more consistently for stronger results.
