Yamaha has officially announced that Jack Miller will leave its MotoGP project at the end of the 2026 season, clearing the path for the Australian to make a highly anticipated move to World Superbikes with Yamaha’s factory team.
Miller, a four-time MotoGP race winner, joined the Yamaha camp in 2025 with Pramac, providing crucial development input for the brand’s new V4 bike. After a strong debut year, he helped drive Yamaha’s MotoGP progress but has faced a tougher 2026 season as the rider market ramped up speculation about his future.
In a statement, Miller said: “It has been a rewarding experience to be part of a group working hard to build for the future. I still believe I have more to offer and more to achieve, and I’ll take that motivation with me into whatever comes next. But before then, there are still races left this season, and my full focus remains on finishing the year strongly with the team.”
Yamaha MD Paolo Pavesio praised Miller’s technical understanding and team spirit: “Jack joined Yamaha at an important stage of our MotoGP project and immediately became a valuable contributor… His positive attitude, team spirit, and ability to build strong relationships across the garage made him a pleasure to work with and a highly valued teammate.”
Miller’s departure opens the door for Moto2 star Izan Guevara to take his place at Pramac, while Toprak Razgatlioglu will remain for 2027. Yamaha’s factory line-up will also see a major refresh, with Jorge Martin and Ai Ogura replacing Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins.
As Miller prepares for his next chapter in WorldSBK, both he and Yamaha look to end their MotoGP partnership on a high note in the remaining races of 2026.
