Fermín Aldeguer says he “maybe didn’t expect to be so regularly in the top five” after an impressive debut half-season in MotoGP with Gresini Ducati.
The 19-year-old Spaniard quickly adapted, taking multiple top-five finishes, three podiums — including a double at Le Mans — and seven top-10 results in the last 12 races.
“I knew on certain tracks we could stand out, but to have this pace so often is very positive,” Aldeguer told Motosan. “Even when finishing sixth or seventh, my lap times are close to podium level.”
Currently 10th in the standings, Aldeguer says he’s improved at handling difficult weekends and mixed conditions, learning from early-season mistakes like his Austin crash.
With more experience under his belt, his goal is to maintain consistency and keep fighting near the front in the second half of the season.
