Fresh from his Catalan GP victory, Alex Marquez admits the San Marino MotoGP at Misano will be a “different story.” The Gresini Racing rider, who now has two wins in 2025 and stands as the only multiple winner alongside brother Marc Marquez, believes Barcelona was the confidence boost he needed after a difficult run of results following his Assen hand injury.
Despite the momentum, Alex acknowledges Misano has traditionally been a tough venue for him, with sixth place last year his best MotoGP result there. He highlighted the first sector—particularly Turns 1, 2, and 3—as the section where he usually loses the most time.
However, he is optimistic that Ducati’s GP24 package will give him more confidence on braking and corner entry compared to the GP23. “If I’m not struggling in sector one, we will be able to be fast,” he said, stressing the importance of avoiding mistakes and maximizing his potential.
Marquez also reflected on the significance of riding for Gresini Racing at Misano, where the team traditionally runs a special Fausto Gresini tribute livery. He praised team principal Nadia Padovani, calling her a “real boss” who has carried forward Fausto’s legacy.
With renewed belief and a stronger bike, Alex Marquez is aiming to fight at the front again, even at a track where success has been elusive in the past.
