Alex Marquez has officially secured second place in the 2025 MotoGP World Championship, finishing runner-up in the Sepang Sprint race behind his absent brother Marc Marquez.
Francesco Bagnaia delivered a dominant performance for the factory Ducati team, reclaiming third in the standings from Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi. However, Alex’s result was enough to extend his points lead beyond 100, confirming a historic Marquez one-two in the championship with two rounds and a grand prix still remaining.
Gresini Ducati’s Fermin Aldeguer also celebrated a milestone weekend, sealing the rookie of the year title with a strong third-place finish. Although he is under investigation for low tyre pressure, the rookie crown is already mathematically his.
