Alex Marquez Ends Marc’s Sprint Streak with British GP Victory

Marc Marquez’s flawless run of Sprint wins in the 2025 MotoGP season came to an end at Silverstone as his younger brother Alex Marquez claimed victory in Saturday’s British Grand Prix Sprint race.

Alex took the lead after Marc ran wide and maintained control to the chequered flag, securing his first Sprint win since Sepang in 2023.

Fabio di Giannantonio rounded out the podium with a solid ride, while Francesco Bagnaia fell from third to sixth by the end of the race.

Ai Ogura has withdrawn from the remainder of the event due to a leg injury sustained on Friday morning.

2023 British GP winner Aleix Espargaro is making his second wild-card outing of the season with HRC.

Somkiat Chantra returns from arm pump surgery, while Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori continues to replace the injured reigning world champion Jorge Martin.

Enea Bastianini will serve a long lap penalty in Sunday’s race for a previous incident involving Bagnaia at the French GP. Meanwhile, Franco Morbidelli has a three-place grid penalty for obstructing Marco Bezzecchi during Friday’s practice session.
