Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim has dismissed speculation about Bruno Fernandes leaving for Real Madrid, insisting the club captain is staying put.
The 30-year-old Portuguese midfielder, who has netted 95 goals in 277 games since joining from Sporting Lisbon in 2020, remains under contract at Old Trafford until 2027. However, recent reports suggested a potential £90 million (€107.4 million) move to the Spanish giants.
Amorim was firm in his response: “No, it’s not going to happen. We want to win the Premier League again, so we need our best players to stay.”
He further emphasized Fernandes’ importance: “He’s still young—he plays 55 games a season and contributes at least 30 goals and assists combined. He’s exactly the type of player we need, and he’s not going anywhere.”
The United boss also reassured fans that the club remains in control of the situation and that Fernandes is happy at Old Trafford.
