Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has brushed off criticism from former Liverpool captain Jamie Redknapp following his side’s humiliating 4-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg. Despite holding a 1-0 advantage from the first leg, Spurs were overrun at Anfield, losing 4-1 on aggregate and failing to register a single shot on target.

Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo equalized in the first half before Mohamed Salah’s penalty, along with goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Virgil van Dijk, sealed the Reds’ place in the final against Newcastle United on March 16.
Redknapp, who previously played for both Liverpool and Tottenham, criticized Spurs’ lack of fight, stating he couldn’t recall a team going down with less resistance. However, when asked about the remarks, Postecoglou remained unfazed.
“I know a lot of people get really excited about things like that,” he said. “Pundits are paid to share their opinions—that’s their job. My job isn’t to monitor the media or react to what people say, it’s to manage this football team. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I don’t feel the need to respond. I don’t care if it’s Jamie Redknapp or anyone else.”
