Francesco Bagnaia says he’s “excited” to kick off the Brno weekend, where MotoGP returns for the first time since 2020 — and early signs suggest a completely transformed circuit.
With Brno fully resurfaced, Bagnaia revealed lap times during a recent private test shattered the old lap record by four seconds, thanks to dramatically improved grip. “I heard about the times at testing; they lowered the record by 4 seconds,” he told Sky Italia. “It’s almost a different track than the one I remember.”
Yamaha’s Rins, Oliveira, Fernandez, and Honda’s Marini were the only riders present for the test. Marc Marquez, however, estimated the gain closer to two seconds.
Bagnaia, who missed Brno 2020 due to injury, hopes the GP25 can shine here after a mixed outing in Germany. Sitting third in the standings, the Ducati rider remains determined to close the gap: “I’m working as usual to regain a feeling that can help me fight against Marc.”
