Barcelona bounce back from Clasico defeat with 3-1 win over Elche

Barcelona returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Elche in La Liga on Sunday, recovering from last weekend’s Clasico loss to Real Madrid.

Goals from Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, and Marcus Rashford sealed the win for Hansi Flick’s side, who moved back to second in the standings, five points behind the leaders.

Despite the win, Barca’s defensive issues persisted as Rafa Mir scored for Elche and twice hit the woodwork. The Catalans have now gone six consecutive league matches without a clean sheet, amid an ongoing injury crisis that sidelined Raphinha, Pedri, and goalkeeper Joan Garcia.

Teenager Yamal, who had struggled against Real Madrid after a groin issue, looked sharper and opened the scoring with a precise finish from Alejandro Balde’s assist. Torres doubled the advantage soon after, converting a low cross from Fermin Lopez.

“Elche came to play and made it tough,” said Flick. “We’re still managing injuries, but I’m proud of the spirit and energy shown today.”

Barca face a busy run of fixtures ahead but will take confidence from rediscovering their attacking rhythm at the Camp Nou.
