Bezzecchi Says Aprilia’s “Effort is Paying Off” Despite Disappointing Aragon Result

Marco Bezzecchi left the Aragon MotoGP weekend with mixed feelings—disappointed by his result but encouraged by Aprilia’s continued development progress.

Coming off a landmark win at Silverstone, expectations were high for Bezzecchi and the factory Aprilia squad. However, a crash in Q1 left him languishing in 20th on the grid, complicating his weekend from the outset. Despite that, the Italian rider clawed his way to eighth in the main race and in the Sprint, but he wasn’t satisfied.

“It’s not a good result with this pace. With this pace we should do something more,” said Bezzecchi. “But in the end I did my best from where we started. So, I can’t complain.”

While the end result was frustrating, Bezzecchi praised Aprilia’s direction, citing the RS-GP’s improvements and the team’s relentless effort.

“The bike is improving day by day, the factory is working really hard. The effort is paying off,” he said. “We are still suffering in some areas, but the bike was working very well overall.”

Aprilia is currently fourth in the constructors’ standings and remains locked in a tight battle for second, with just 29 points separating second and fifth place. Bezzecchi sits seventh in the riders’ championship with 79 points after eight rounds.

Looking ahead, Aprilia and Bezzecchi are focused on development. During Monday’s test at Aragon, Bezzecchi will try out several new components including updated aerodynamics, electronics, a new exhaust, and a chassis—all aimed at improving the RS-GP’s rideability and competitiveness.
