Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has publicly backed Michael Carrick to be appointed as the club’s permanent manager, praising the former England international’s impact since taking over as interim boss. Carrick was handed the reins in January following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim, and has since guided United to an impressive run of form.
Under Carrick’s leadership, United have won 10 of their last 14 matches—including high-profile victories over Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea—propelling the club to third in the Premier League and securing a place in next season’s Champions League.
“I think he’s a guy who has already demonstrated that he has very good qualities to be a Manchester United coach,” Casemiro told ESPN Brazil. “Since he arrived, he’s been doing an incredible job and I think that with more time, he has everything to be a great manager of Manchester United.”
United, currently on 64 points with three league matches remaining, will next face Sunderland as they aim to consolidate their strong finish to the season.
