Chen Yu Fei has made a strong return to the HSBC BWF World Tour, reaching the final of the 2025 Orleans Masters, where she will face World No.1 An Se Young in a highly anticipated showdown.
The 2020 Olympic champion last played a World Tour event at the Indonesia Open in June 2024 before taking an extended break after the Paris Olympics. She made a limited return at the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championship last month, playing just two matches.
Chen had a tough road to the final, with three of her matches going the distance. In the semifinals, she overcame a first-game loss to Beiwen Zhang before sealing victory in 48 minutes. Meanwhile, An Se Young also faced a challenge, dropping the opening game to Gao Fang Jie before rallying to win 20-22, 21-7, 21-14.
The final promises to be an exciting clash between two of the sport’s biggest stars.
