The 2026 BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals are set to open with a bang as defending champions China headline the opening session on Friday, 24 April, at Horsens, Denmark. Both the men’s and women’s teams from China will be in action, launching their quests to retain the prestigious titles.
In the Uber Cup, China’s women face Ukraine in a Group A clash, while the men’s team squares off against Australia in the Thomas Cup, also in Group A. Both ties are scheduled for an early 8.30am local time start.
The opening session will also see 2022 Thomas Cup champions India take on Pan Am champions Canada, setting the stage for compelling early-round action.
European powerhouses France and Denmark will also be on court on day one. France meets Thailand in Thomas Cup Group D, while Denmark faces Korea in Thomas Cup Group C—two matchups expected to deliver high-intensity badminton.
The competition’s first four days feature ties beginning at 8.30am, 12 noon, and 6.30pm across three courts, ensuring a packed schedule for fans and players alike.
Key dates include the conclusion of the Uber Cup group stage on 28 April, followed by the Thomas Cup’s on 29 April. The knockout draws for the Uber and Thomas Cups will take place at 10.30am local time on 29 and 30 April, respectively.
Quarterfinal action for the Uber Cup is slated for 30 April, while the Thomas Cup quarterfinals will be played on 1 May. The penultimate day, Saturday 2 May, will feature the Uber Cup semifinals from 10am and the Thomas Cup semifinals from 6pm.
Champions will be crowned on Sunday, 3 May, with the Uber Cup final at 10am and the Thomas Cup final at 6pm, bringing the prestigious biennial team tournament to an exciting close.
