Ducati Remains Dominant, But Eyes Threat from Rivals Despite Marquez’s Brilliance

Ducati general manager Gigi Dall’Igna has acknowledged the rising threat from MotoGP rivals despite Marc Marquez’s continued dominance in the 2025 season.

As the championship enters its summer break, Ducati leads both the riders’ and manufacturers’ standings, having secured 10 wins out of 12 races and all sprint victories. Marquez added his eighth win of the season and fifth consecutive sprint/GP double at the Czech Grand Prix, extending his lead to 120 points.

Dall’Igna praised the 32-year-old for his exceptional form and race intelligence, crediting him for optimizing both bike performance and strategy. He highlighted Marquez’s ability to dominate in different race conditions, whether through early command or calculated pacing.

“This level of supremacy goes beyond race wins,” Dall’Igna noted, emphasizing Marquez’s humility and continuous drive for improvement.

However, despite Ducati’s overwhelming success, Dall’Igna warned that their rivals are becoming more dangerous. With Aprilia and KTM finishing behind Marquez in Brno, he signaled that the competition is closing in and the second half of the season will be even more demanding.

As the break begins, Dall’Igna sees it as a chance to recharge before facing tougher challenges in the coming races.
