Ducati Rider Fermin Aldeguer Suffers Leg Fracture in Training Accident

Gresini Racing have confirmed that MotoGP race winner Fermin Aldeguer has suffered a fractured femur following a training accident in Valencia.

The 20-year-old Spaniard, who made his MotoGP debut with Gresini last season on a 2024-spec Ducati, enjoyed an impressive rookie year and was named rookie of the season. His standout moment came with his first MotoGP victory at the Indonesian Grand Prix.

Aldeguer was set to compete this year on a 2025-spec Ducati, but his preparations have been disrupted after he fractured the shaft of his left femur during a training session on Thursday. He is scheduled to undergo surgery in Barcelona on Friday. No further details about the incident have been disclosed.

The injury comes just weeks before the first pre-season test of the 2026 MotoGP season, which will take place in Malaysia from 3–5 February. Gresini Racing are also due to launch their season in Kuala Lumpur on 31 January, with further testing scheduled in Buriram later in February ahead of the Thai Grand Prix season opener.

Femur fractures typically require a lengthy recovery period, putting Aldeguer in a race against time to be fit for the opening round.

The incident reportedly occurred at the Aspar circuit in Valencia, where reigning world champion Marc Marquez is also returning to on-track riding after recovering from a shoulder injury suffered last October.
