One of MotoGP’s rising stars, Fermín Aldeguer, has his sights firmly set on Ducati’s prestigious factory team — and he’s openly aiming to break up the star-studded Marc Márquez–Pecco Bagnaia partnership by 2027.
Currently riding for Gresini and signed directly with Ducati, the 20-year-old Spaniard has made a strong impression in his rookie season. With a “2+2” year contract structure, Aldeguer knows good results could earn him the red factory bike in two years’ time.
“The goal of every rookie in a satellite team is to move up,” Aldeguer told Motorsport. “I’m lucky — I have a direct contract with Ducati, and I’m riding a competitive machine almost identical to the factory one.”
Aldeguer has already made headlines with a podium finish at Le Mans in just his sixth MotoGP race. His rapid adaptation and maturity — including a respectful and collaborative relationship with teammate Álex Márquez — are winning fans inside and outside the garage.
Ducati’s decision-makers are reportedly impressed, and while 2027 is still distant, Aldeguer’s form could soon put pressure on the existing factory lineup. With new technical regulations arriving that year, it could be the perfect time for a fresh face to shake up Ducati’s top tier.
