Jayson Tatum Leads Short-Handed Celtics to Easy Win Over Banged-Up Sixers

Jayson Tatum made scoring 35 points look effortless as he led the Boston Celtics to a dominant win over the Philadelphia 76ers. With the Sixers struggling defensively, Tatum capitalized early, scoring 18 points in the first quarter by simply attacking the rim. He then cruised through the rest of the game, finishing with 35 points on 14-for-23 shooting (5-for-11 from three), along with seven rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

Tatum has been on the verge of a triple-double in recent games, but with the Sixers failing to pressure him into distributing, he focused on scoring instead. His efficient performance, combined with contributions from an unexpected source, helped the Celtics secure an easy victory.

One of the surprises of the night was rookie Baylor Scheierman, who had the best game of his young NBA career. Scheierman scored 15 points on 5-for-10 shooting, including three 3-pointers, and even took the opportunity to taunt the Sixers’ bench after one of his shots. Beyond his scoring, he showed solid defensive instincts, taking a charge and hustling in transition to disrupt an easy layup.

With the Celtics missing key players, Tatum and Scheierman stepped up, ensuring Boston maintained control throughout the game. The Sixers, dealing with injuries of their own, struggled to put up much resistance, allowing the Celtics to continue their strong form.
