Jorge Martin Provides Injury Update: “I’m Trying to Be Back as Soon as Possible”

MotoGP World Champion Jorge Martin has provided a brief update on his recovery while attending an Aprilia event in Milan for the launch of the Aprilia Tuono 457.

The Aprilia Racing rider, who has been sidelined due to multiple injuries, admitted he is still uncertain about his return date but remains determined to get back on track soon. He acknowledged that the recovery process has been difficult but assured fans that he is working hard to return as soon as possible. He did not provide a specific timeline but expressed hope to be back on the grid soon.

Martin initially suffered fractures in his right hand and left foot during MotoGP preseason testing at Sepang. However, a supermoto crash just before the Thai GP made things worse, causing multiple fractures in his left wrist, including a break to the scaphoid, which is known for its slow healing process. As a result, he was forced to miss the season opener and will also be absent from the next round in Argentina. His participation in the third round in Texas remains uncertain.

In Martin’s absence, Marc Marquez has taken full advantage, winning both races from pole position in Thailand. The Ducati rider now leads the championship by eight points over his brother Alex Marquez and by 14 points over defending champion Francesco Bagnaia. With Martin’s return still unclear, the title race is already heating up early in the season.
