MotoGP World Champion Jorge Martin believes that arriving at Hungary’s new Balaton Park without prior references could work in his favor as he continues adapting to the Aprilia RS-GP.
After switching from Pramac Ducati to Aprilia for 2025, Martin has endured a difficult season, completing just one race from the opening 13 rounds due to persistent injury setbacks. Still in the process of adjusting his style after four years on the Ducati, Martin feels that tackling an all-new circuit could help him focus more on riding instinctively rather than relying on past habits.
“I used to ride another bike and had many references, from braking points to cornering. But when I tried the same things on the Aprilia, they didn’t work,” Martin explained. “Here, without any references, I can just ride and work on my feeling rather than changing the bike.”
The Spaniard admitted he overreached at the Austrian Grand Prix, where he crashed twice, and is determined to keep his approach in check this weekend. “I don’t know what to expect. My only goal is to understand the bike better, find my limit, and keep improving. Whatever results come will be a bonus.”
