Kimi Antonelli returned to winning ways with a commanding victory at the Belgian Grand Prix, securing his sixth win of the Formula 1 season and extending his championship lead.
The Mercedes driver overtook Charles Leclerc late in the race after briefly losing the lead during the virtual safety car pit-stop phase. Antonelli had found himself chasing the Ferrari after the strategy shuffle but, unlike at Silverstone, successfully reclaimed the lead to seal the win and move 45 points clear in the standings.
The race began dramatically, with Antonelli’s teammate George Russell retiring on the opening lap following a collision with Lewis Hamilton. The incident earned Hamilton a time penalty, a decision that left the Ferrari driver frustrated after the race.
Despite the early chaos, Antonelli remained composed to deliver another impressive performance, strengthening his position at the top of the championship as the season heads into its next round.
