Luis Enrique Praises Chevalier After PSG Debut Heroics

Lucas Chevalier made a stunning debut as Paris Saint-Germain’s new first-choice goalkeeper, helping his side to a Super Cup win over Tottenham Hotspur on penalties. The 23-year-old, signed from Lille just days earlier, impressed with several key saves, including denying Micky van de Ven in the shootout, as PSG triumphed 4-3.

His arrival coincided with Gianluigi Donnarumma’s removal from the squad, with the Italian now seeking a new club. PSG coach Luis Enrique lauded Chevalier’s composure under pressure, calling him “a top-class goalkeeper” who handled the difficult circumstances brilliantly.

Teammate Ousmane Dembele also highlighted the dream start, noting how Chevalier’s penalty save was the perfect introduction. PSG open their Ligue 1 campaign away to Nantes on Sunday.
