Marc Marquez is ready to get “back to work” at Le Mans this weekend as the French MotoGP beckons, though he admits, “I don’t know what we’ll bring” after post-Jerez testing, hinting at some uncertainty regarding setup or upgrades.
The #93 rider arrives in France just one point behind his brother Alex in the standings, having crashed out early in his home race in Jerez—his second DNF of the season, both due to mistakes. Despite the setbacks, Marquez reaffirmed his pace by topping Monday’s post-race test.
“I made two mistakes this season and those are the two races I didn’t finish. But the speed is there,” said Marquez, who last won at Le Mans in 2019 with Honda.
While Ducati has been dominant in France, winning the last seven MotoGP races (including sprints) at Le Mans since 2020, neither Marquez nor current factory teammate Francesco Bagnaia has featured on that winning list. Marquez did, however, battle back for two second-place finishes from 13th on the grid as a Gresini Ducati rider last year.
A Ducati victory this Sunday would not only continue their French dominance but also mark a historic 23rd consecutive GP win—a new MotoGP record for a manufacturer.
Ducati’s French GP Winners (2020–2024):
- 2020: Danilo Petrucci
- 2021: Jack Miller
- 2022: Enea Bastianini
- 2023: Marco Bezzecchi (GP), Jorge Martin (Sprint)
- 2024: Jorge Martin (GP & Sprint)
With momentum on Ducati’s side but personal redemption on his mind, Le Mans could be the perfect place for Marc Marquez to ignite his 2025 title charge.
