Marc Marquez has revealed that a key change to his pre-season training routine has played a major role in his impressive Saturday performances during the 2025 MotoGP season.
Now leading the championship by 24 points after three rounds, the factory Ducati rider has won three grands prix and dominated Saturdays, with six consecutive sprint wins from Thailand to France.
While his full-race results have been closely matched by brother Alex Marquez, Marc has pulled ahead significantly in sprint points, highlighting Saturdays as a strength this year.
During the French GP, Marquez credited his off-season shift in focus toward time attack training as a solution to one of his long-standing weaknesses.
“Doing time attacks — because normally when you train at home, you don’t do time attacks since you don’t want to crash your bike, especially when you’re the one paying for it,” Marquez joked.
“Usually you train with used tyres, focus on race rhythm and long runs. I just changed my training plan slightly to work on my weak points.”
Over the winter, Marquez was frequently seen riding a Ducati Panigale V2 at the Aspar circuit in Spain, specifically working on improving his one-lap speed.
He finished third in the British GP, narrowly holding off Franco Morbidelli after surviving a crash on lap two — a red flag caused by an oil spill gave him a second chance.
With Aragon up next from June 6–8, Marquez will look to repeat his perfect weekend from last year, where he took pole, won the sprint, and claimed the grand prix victory while riding a Gresini-run Ducati.
