Dominant Moto2 championship leader Manu Gonzalez admits he still has no guarantees of a MotoGP seat for 2027 despite enjoying a remarkable season that has established him as the standout rider in the intermediate class.
The 23-year-old Spaniard has been in sensational form for Intact GP throughout the 2026 campaign, emerging as the rider to beat after eight rounds.
Gonzalez has claimed four victories and finished outside the podium positions only once this season, opening up a commanding 49.5-point lead at the top of the championship standings.
His latest triumph came at the Hungarian Grand Prix, where he secured his third consecutive victory of the year, further strengthening his title credentials.
That success followed an emphatic performance at Mugello, where Gonzalez crossed the finish line more than five seconds clear of his nearest rival — a rare feat at a circuit renowned for closely contested pack racing.
Despite his impressive results, Gonzalez revealed that he still has no confirmed pathway into MotoGP for 2027.
“I don’t have anything,” he said when asked about opportunities in the premier class.
His performances have undoubtedly enhanced his reputation, but his name was largely absent from early rider market discussions, with fellow Moto2 contenders such as Dani Holgado and David Alonso appearing closer to securing MotoGP rides.
Even Gonzalez’s Intact GP teammate, Senna Agius, is reportedly in a strong position to move up to MotoGP thanks to his connections with the Tech3 KTM setup.
While speculation previously linked Gonzalez to a potential seat with Trackhouse Racing MotoGP Team, those rumours have cooled in recent weeks, leaving the championship leader still searching for a breakthrough opportunity despite producing the strongest results in Moto2 this season.
For now, Gonzalez remains focused on extending his championship advantage and proving that his performances deserve a place on the MotoGP grid in 2027.
