Former MotoGP rider Mattia Pasini has promised to return to Valentino Rossi’s 100Km of Champions after a heavy crash left him briefly unconscious during the 2025 edition at the VR46 Ranch in Tavullia.
The event, which attracts riders from various disciplines, took a worrying turn when Pasini collided with 2014 Moto2 champion Tito Rabat on Friday, 28 November. The impact knocked Pasini out, leading to an air ambulance transfer to hospital as a precaution. Fortunately, he sustained no serious injuries.
Speaking to GPOne, Pasini described the incident, saying he was following closely behind Rabat when the latter’s bike lifted during acceleration, causing its rear wheel to hit Pasini’s front. He noted that the crash was simply bad luck and not Rabat’s fault.
Pasini praised the quick response of on-site doctors, who arranged immediate medical evacuation. After two days of observation, he was discharged with bruising but no major damage. He added that Valentino Rossi was visibly relieved once he regained consciousness.
Despite the frightening experience, Pasini confirmed that he intends to compete again in next year’s 100Km of Champions.
