Pedro Acosta on Watching New MotoGP Winners Emerge: “It Is What It Is”

While Fermin Aldeguer and Raul Fernandez claimed their first MotoGP victories in 2025, Pedro Acosta’s hunt for a maiden premier-class win will continue into a third season.

The Red Bull KTM rider admitted frustration affected him early in the year, but from Brno onwards he became a regular podium threat.

“It is what it is,” Acosta said about seeing fellow Spaniards win before him.
“At the end, I want to be winning also. I think I’m riding in my best moment — no stupid mistakes, not losing focus, always in the top five. We’re finding consistency, but we know what’s still missing.”

Aldeguer beat Acosta to victory in Mandalika, while Fernandez triumphed at Phillip Island. Acosta himself took second-place finishes in Indonesia, Hungary and Malaysia, and came closest in the Portimão Sprint — losing to Alex Marquez by just 0.120s.

He believes KTM must take the next step:
“We need something that gives us a bit more performance. Ducati is still top, Aprilia is now second, and Honda is pushing. Now the factory has to make a push. It’s my moment to be precise about everything I need to be fast.”

Acosta’s strong second half — second only to Marco Bezzecchi — lifted him from 13th after COTA to fourth overall, matching KTM’s best championship finish. He ended 2025 as top KTM again at the Valencia test, just 0.208s off the leader.
