Pedro Acosta has bounced back from a difficult start to his factory KTM career, with Pol Espargaro pointing to improved communication as a key factor in the Spaniard’s resurgence.

After scoring just 58 points across the opening seven rounds of 2025, Acosta turned his form around with podiums at Brno and the Red Bull Ring, collecting 65 points in the last three races. Only Marc Marquez (111) and Marco Bezzecchi (67) have scored more in that span.

Acosta admitted the early struggles tested his mindset but credited senior KTM figures Pit Beirer and Aki Ajo for reminding him to stay patient. “Sometimes being more calm, more positive… is better than pushing harder,” he explained.

Espargaro, who understands the frustrations of a young Moto2 champion stepping into MotoGP, said: “Sometimes MotoGP is not fair. You need to understand that finishing P6 is part of the learning process. I think Pedro is in that process now.”

With KTM’s latest upgrades also helping him manage races better, Acosta now sits fifth in the world championship ahead of the Catalan GP, just one spot behind top non-Ducati rider Marco Bezzecchi.
