PSG Eliminate Arsenal to Reach Champions League Final

Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the UEFA Champions League final with a 2-1 win over Arsenal on Wednesday night, completing a 3-1 aggregate victory and ending the Gunners’ European hopes.

Fabian Ruiz opened the scoring with a thunderous strike in the 27th minute after PSG weathered early pressure from Arsenal at the Parc des Princes. Achraf Hakimi doubled the lead in the 72nd minute, rendering Bukayo Saka’s late goal mere consolation.

Despite missing top scorer Ousmane Dembele in the starting XI and seeing Vitinha miss a penalty, PSG remained composed. Gianluigi Donnarumma produced key saves, including a fingertip stop on Saka, to preserve the lead.

Arsenal had their chances, especially early on, but couldn’t convert. Saka missed a golden opportunity late, blazing over from close range. The defeat ends Arsenal’s hopes of a first Champions League final in 19 years.

PSG now head to their second-ever Champions League final, set for May 31 in Munich against Inter Milan, as they aim to avenge their 2020 loss and finally lift the trophy.
